Harrison Begay

A silkscreen painting of a young Navajo man kneeling on the ground. He is making a sand painting on the ground.

Story

My mother's father passed away when she was 22 years old. When she sees pictures of her uncle Harrison, she remarks of the resemblance to her father and what he looked like from her childhood. The only picture she has of her father is from his employee badge when he worked for the Navajo Ordnance Depot in Flagstaff, Arizona.

Harrison worked in watercolors, gouache, and silkscreen prints. I have a few pieces of his artwork that I have collected.
